The Orlando Magic have been outscored by an average of 21.0 points over the last three games as they’ve seemingly collapsed after an impressive month of December. Perhaps not all that suprising as the Magic are just 11-24 ATS in January games over the last three seasons.

I’m going to lay some points tonight, recommending a play on the San Antonio Spurs. All hands should be on deck tonight for Gregg Popovich after his team got rocked last time out by the LA Clippers.

The Magic may have thought they were catching some momentum mid-January posting two consecutive wins. They’ve lost five straight since though allowing an average of 116 points per game, a stretch that started with a 106-96 loss at home to Memphis on Jan 16.

I’m recommending a play on the Pistons on Tuesday. A little Piston revenge is on the menu when they take on Orlando tonight. Detroit is off to a 2-0 start post-Josh Smith. Some were taken aback when Stan Van Gundy cut Smith loose, after all, the forward is averaging 12.8 ppg and 7.2 rpg.

The Magic were an atrocious 4-37 on the road last season and are 4-21-2 ATS in their last 27 road games. The Pelicans finished last season strong at home where they went 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight. They won last season’s home meeting with Orlando by eight points and were favored by six in that contest.

I know it’s a lot of points to be laying, but I think this one has blowout written all over it. I think New Orleans is one of the big sleeper teams this season. New Orleans won 34 games last year dealing with two big injuries, as Ryan Anderson played in just 22 games and Jrue Holiday played in only 34.
