Play On: New Jersey Devils ML

The Devils are coming off two consecutive wins, first defeating the Wild 3-1 in New Jersey and followed that up with a 1-0 victory versus the Caps. The Avalanche are rounding off a four game road trip hoping to get a second consecutive win after dropping the first two. I think they will fail. They’ve been poor on the road all season long going 2-5-3 and will be up against a Devils team who are finally looking good. They may have the worst penalty kill in the league, but have now killed off eight consecutive penalties and the Avs are 1-for-20 on the power play over their last six games.

Cory Schneider is 0-1-2 with a 2.27 GAA in his last three meetings with Colorado after going 6-0-0 with a 0.91 GAA in his seven prior. I think he will put up a good performance again in this contest. The Avs netminder Semyon Varlamov is 1-2-3 with a 3.55 GAA on the road this season.
