Indians vs. Cubs World Series Game 7 Predictions  11/02/16

The Chicago Cubs are on the cusp of completing a miraculous comeback. They’ve shown plenty of resilience with two straight victories to tie the World Series at 3-3 and force a deciding Game 7 at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio Wednesday night. The Cubs scored three runs in the opening inning of last night’s 9-3 victory and never looked back. History is not on their side though as 10 consecutive World Series that began 3-1 were lost by the team facing that deficit.

The Cubs will most likely enter the game as the favorite nevertheless as they as of the publication of this fre cost between -120 to -130 to back at most shops online and in Vegas while the best price you can get on the Indians is +110. The public seem to favor Chicago with 55 percent of the tickets coming in on the Cubs while close to 85 percent of the wagers believe we will see a pitchers duel and that the game will go under the total of 6.5 runs. The game has an 8:00 PM EST start and can be seen nationwide on FOX.

Kyle Hendricks (1-1, 1.31 ERA) vs. Indians RH Corey Kluber (4-1, 0.89 ERA)

The Cubs have split Hendricks’ four starts in the postseason, and he took a no-decision in Game 3 of the World Series when he allowed six hits and two walks in 4 1/3 shutout innings home at Wrigley Field. Cleveland eventually won the game 1-0. Cubs are 5-0 in Hendricks’ last five starts with four days of rest and 5-0 in Hendricks’ last five road starts.

The Indians have won four of Kluber’s previous five postseason starts and he has allowed a total of just three runs during that span. He has struck out 15 hitters and allowed just one run through 12 innings of work in winning both his starts in the World Series. Kluber and the Indians’ lights-out bullpen teamed to strike out 15 in the World Series opener and needs to be at his best here as the Cubs bats have come alive again in recent games.

Cubs Kris Bryant went 4-for-5 in Game 6 and homered for the second straight game, but he’s hitless in eight at-bats with three strikeouts against Kluber. Kyle Schwarber will once again serve as the DH and is batting .333 in the World Series despite missing the previous six-plus months due to knee surgery. Cleveland’s Jason Kipnis had three hits and a homer in two of the past three games.

Our Prediction: Under 6.5 Runs

We believe the public is in the right for once, and we agree that runs will come at a premium here in Game 7.
