Memphis Tigers vs. SMU Mustangs NCAAB Free Pick
I’m recommending a play on the SMU Mustangs minus the points on Thursday night.
SMU is on a 9-1 SU run at home where they have won all but two of their last 29 games. They have been dominating teams in the paint on the offensive end, but the key to covering this number tonight will likely be what happens at the other end of the floor. SMU enters tonight’s contest holding opponents to 60.4 ppg. They rank 31st in allowing teams to make just 37.9% of their FGA. I expect their hard-nosed defensive approach to come into play against a Memphis team whose offense hits the skids at times when the competition level rises.
The Tigers are 8-5 on the season, but have scored an average of just 55.2 ppg in the losses. And while it’s tough to imagine, the Tigers will be playing their first true road game of the season despite the fact this will be their 14th game and we’re more than seven weeks into their season. SMU ended last regular season with a 67-58 loss at Memphis, a defeat that combined with a loss to Houston, may have done the final damage in keeping them out of the Big Dance.
They’d love to atone for that loss in this, the first meeting between the schools in 2015. SMU had won eight straight games before a six point loss at Cincy last time out, but back home I look for them to get right back in the win column.
I’m recommending a play on SMU minus the points on Thursday.
Thanks & GL!
Scott Spreitzer cashed another “off the beaten path” CBB release last night. His next goes on Thursday and is his CBB UNDER THE RADAR SHOCKER OF THE MONTH! This conference underdog is undervalued and backed by combined spots on a 13-3, 81% winning run. Grab it…CASH it!
