NBA Odds: Warriors-Rockets Game 3 on TNT
GSW -5.5 / HOU +5.5
Last year, the Golden State Warriors (73-9 SU, 45-35-2 ATS) eliminated the Houston Rockets (41-41 SU, 37-45 ATS) in five games in the Western Conference Finals. This year the teams face each other already in the Conference Quarterfinals, and the Warriors have jumped out to a two-game lead after a pair of wins home at Oracle Arena. The Rockets will be looking to take one game back in Thursday’s Game 3 (9:30 PM ET, TNT) at the Toyota Center.
This is far from same Houston team that earned the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference last year though. The Rockets barely squeaked into the playoffs and has shown little to suggest it got what it takes to upset the mighty Warriors in even one game. Houston didn’t have much of a prayer in either of the first two games at Oracle Arena – but at least the Rox earned a push ATS Monday night as 9-point road dogs.
One major reason was that Steph Curry missed the contest with discomfort in his ankle and foot. Curry hopes to play in Game 3, but Steve Kerr might be tempted to rest his superstar once again with a long postseason ahead. Shaun Livingston started in Curry’s place in Game 2 and scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting.
