|08-30-18||Vikings v. Titans +1||Top||13-3||Loss||-105||10 h 47 m||Show|
Minnesota at Tennessee 8:00 ET
Titans over Vikings- Tennessee made a coaching move in the off-season and it may have been a mistake. New coach Mike Vrabel is still looking for his first pro win as the Titans are 0-3 in pre-season action and have looked terrible offensively. Most new coaches look to establish a 'winning culture' upon entering a 'new' situation and that certainly hasn't been the case here. Minnesota staged a great coming from behind win last week in their 21-20 win over Seattle and are favorites in the NFC with 'Kirk' Cousins leading the way. The Vikings will look to protect their assets while the Titans are looking to show something positive for their home fans entering the season. Take TENNESSEE!
|08-25-18||Ravens v. Dolphins +1||Top||27-10||Loss||-104||9 h 11 m||Show|
Baltimore at Miami 7:00 ET
Dolphins over Ravens- This is the fourth game of the preseason for the Ravens and they have posted three wins but are only 1-2 ATS. Miami on the other hand is 0-2 both SU and ATS and have lost their last five overall and 8-of-10. Baltimore has now won 11 straight preseason games under Harbaugh and it looks like the odds-makers are giving 'you' or 'us' a chance to take them without laying points (they actually might go to a small favorite). Week 3 is supposed to be a 'dress' rehearsal for the opener but the Ravens are ready now. This game has so much more significance for the Dolphins who has Ryan Tannehill back this season and will use him tonight. Oh I almost forgot to tell you my friends at Playbook tell me that 'any 0-2 team that is a dog or favorite by 2 or less points in Game three has an ATS record of 24-7 77%.' So, take MIAMI!
|08-24-18||Packers v. Raiders -6||Top||6-13||Win||100||12 h 29 m||Show|
Green Bay at Oakland 10:30 ET
Raiders (-) over Packers- Boy oh boy! You have got to be kidding me. The Green Bay Packers have scored 82 points in two pre-season wins including 51 last week against Pittsburgh while the Raiders under John Gruden are 1-1 and are off last weeks loss at the Rams 19-15 scoring a total of 31 points on their two contests. Here's the thing the Packers have had two blowout wins at home and must now take to the road and open a 7-point underdog. Now, think about this, the Pack just scored 51 points and have two huge wins at Lambeau Field and now in their first road test they are the largest dog on the card this week against a team that didn't score a point with their starters in the game. I don't expect much of an effort out of Green Bay and neither do the oddsmakers. Take OAKLAND!
|08-20-18||Ravens v. Colts +2||Top||20-19||Win||100||9 h 26 m||Show|
Baltimore at Indianapolis 8:00 ET
Colts (+) over Ravens- The long awaited return of Andrew Luck has been realized and his playing time increased but his ability to throw the ball down field without pain has been noted. Baltimore of course has quarterback issues of their own as exciting draft pick Lamar Jackson and veteran starter Joe Flacco have not warmed up to each other and Robert Griffin III is around for clean up work. The Colts new head coach Frank Reich brought in new offensive and defensive co-coordinators and all are playing every game to win especially now to establish as winning culture. Take INDIANAPOLIS!
|08-18-18||Seahawks v. Chargers -3||Top||14-24||Win||100||11 h 14 m||Show|
Seattle at L.A. Chargers 10:00 ET
Chargers (-) over Seahawks- Since taking over the Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has had the best pre-season ATS record of any other team in the NFL Entering this season he is 34-14-1 ATS in his preseason career including 7-1 ATS the past two seasons. But, things change and the Seahawks lost their opener to the Colts 19-17 and trends head in opposite directions. The Chargers also took and opening week lost at Arizona and look to establish a favorable home base. Things change...take the CHARGERS!
|08-16-18||Jets v. Redskins +1||Top||13-15||Win||100||10 h 12 m||Show|
New York Jets at Washington 8:00 ET
Redskins over Jets- Most of us saw his performance last week and opposition players are raving about New York's Number One draft pick (#3 overall) quarterback San Darnold. The Jets are coming off a 17-0 win over Atlanta while the Redskins blew a 17-0 halftime lead at New England. The Jets also have a come-back story with Teddy Bridgewater and Josh McCown while Washington has newly acquired Alex Smith and Colt McCoy who left with that 17-0 lead at halftime while Smith will see his first preseason action tonight. After blowing the lead and the Jets winning by a shutout fortunes should reverse here. Take WASHINGTON!
|08-31-17||Eagles v. Jets -115||Top||10-16||Win||100||9 h 57 m||Show|
Philadelphia at New York Jets 7:00 ET
Jets over Eagles- There has been mystery in the Jets camp this pre-season as they have been projected as the NFL's worst team and by a far margin at that! Head coach Todd Bowles was silent on his starting quarterback but found the answer in veteran Josh McCown who was named the starter on Monday. McCown has played just one series this summer and that was on August 12 a 7-3 win over Tennessee. Bowles tried in the worst way to hand the job over to their 2016 No. 1 draft pick Christian Hackenberg but his 65.1 QB rating in pre-season put him where he belongs (on the sidelines). He really belongs in the stands as a spectator as he is that woeful. The Eagles are 2-1 this summer and are off an offensive performance where they scored 38 points against Miami. You won't see that kind of offensive effort Thursday as Philly lays low before their opening trip to Washington. Take the J-E-T-S!
|08-26-17||Chargers +2.5 v. Rams||Top||21-19||Win||100||10 h 49 m||Show|
L.A. Chargers at L.A. Rams 8:00 ET
Chargers (+) over Rams- The first 'new' battle for Los Angeles takes place Saturday and the undefeated Rams host the winless Chargers in what is sure to become a heated rivalry. The Rams are now being led by No. 1 overall draft pick second year quarterback geoff Goff who will be opposed by the Chargers veteran QB Phillip Rivers. Most likely, neither of these clubs will make the playoffs as they just have too many better teams to climb over. The Rams who won just 4-of-16 games last season and averaged only 14 points per contest while the Chargers averaged almost 26 points with their five wins. Take CHARGERS!
|08-21-17||Giants v. Browns +1.5||Top||6-10||Win||100||9 h 25 m||Show|
New York Giants at Cleveland 8:00 ET
Browns (+) over Giants- The Giants are expected to give the Cowboys a run for the NFL East as they have addressed their lack of running game in the off-season and have what could be considered the best receiving corps in the league. Eli Manning is one of the elite quarterbacks and with this group to throw to with Odell Beckham leading the way but he won't be seeing much if any action tonight. Cleveland has a long way to go to gain respectability but with 'fresh' personnel and better coaching they will show marked improvement. The Browns will show up here but the Giants may not. Take CLEVELAND!
|08-19-17||Packers v. Redskins -3||Top||21-17||Loss||-115||8 h 47 m||Show|
Green Bay at Washington 7:30 ET
Redskins (-) over Packers- It has always been said about the NFL pre-season and often enough about the regular season as well that 'you' should never make evaluations and over-react to a teams performance their first game out. For the fans of the clubs from the Nation's Capitol the Redskins can't possible be as bad as they looked (or played) against the Ravens in their opener as they garnered only 138 total yards on offense. Washington had only 39 yards rushing and allowed four sacks and scored just 3-points their 20-3 loss. Green Bay meanwhile won easily at home 24-9 over Philadelphia and are now getting points from a team that managed just a field goal. The Redskins are favored by more points then the scored last week and that sends up a 'red flag.' Take WASHINGTON!
|09-01-16||Patriots v. Giants -115||Top||9-17||Win||100||8 h 22 m||Show|
New England at New York Giants 7:00 ET
Giants over Patriots- New England has done just abut everything right winning all three preseason contests as the enter Giants Stadium for their final game before the real stuff starts while the Giants have looked absolutely terrible with their first string offense no able to move the ball much less core any points. New head coach Ben McAdoo is so concerned he is willing to play his starters the first have in this meaningless encounter. These two teams have met in the final preseason game 10 straight years and the Giants always seem to get the best of it going 5-0 ATS the last five meetings. The fact that New York has been made the favorite here tells the tale of who needs to show up and play. Look for the Giants to put forth a solid effort and win easily as the Pats take the night off. Take the GIANTS!
|08-26-16||Packers v. 49ers -123||Top||21-10||Loss||-123||14 h 38 m||Show|
Green Bay at San Francisco 10:00 ET
49ers over Packers- If ever there was a 'Don't Make Sense' Game this is it. Green Bay has had two impressive home wins to open the Pre-season and are traveling to San Francisco to play the lowly 49ers. Even though San Francisco is off an huge win at Denver (31-24) it does not warrant them being a favorite over the Packers anywhere. The fact that they are favored tells me Green Bay will not be 'All-in' tonight while the Niners Head Coach Chip Kelly is looking to install a winning attitude for his troupes. In a preseason surprise take SAN FRANCISCO!
|08-18-16||Bears +3.5 v. Patriots||Top||22-23||Win||100||11 h 42 m||Show|
Chicago at New England 8:00 ET
Bears (+) over Patriots- If this game was being played during the regular season I would 'love' the Bears in this spot. They enter this contest scoreless in their opening pre-season game at home while New England scored an NFL high 34 points last week. Chicago managed just 160 yards total offense last week as they showed nothing positive against the Super Bowl champion Broncos. The the Patriots play Carolina next week and Game 3 is the one game Belichick concentrates on. Take the BEARS!
|08-14-16||Texans v. 49ers -3||Top||24-13||Loss||-125||10 h 31 m||Show|
Houston at San Francisco 7:00 ET
49ers (-) over Texans- If ever a team needs to show something early it's the 49ers who are off really bad things both on and off the field in 2015. Just five wins and a quarterback controversy that parallels any other surrounded San Francisco last season as Colin Kapernick became the 30 million dollar man and then the Niners realized that he can't play quarterback at a professional level. Now they have a 'new' head coach in Chip Kelly that will reinvigorate a lifeless offense. Blaine Gabbert will see the majority of action as Kaepernick has come up with some sort of injury that will keep off the field. Houston won seven of their last nine last season and now has Brock Osweiler at QB but are pointing to their home opener next week. Take SAN FRANCISCO!
|08-29-15||NY Jets +2 v. NY Giants||Top||28-18||Win||100||10 h 53 m||Show|
New York Jets at New York Giants 7:00 ET
Jets (+) over Giants- Every season they play this contest and the New York media tries to make it a big deal whereas the players are just trying to stay healthy. The Jets one of my 'Top-plays' last week (4-0) committed 17 penalties in their come-from-behind win over Atlanta and with a new coach and staff they will try desperately try and improve while the Giants with a veteran staff and offense will just go through the motions. Eli Manning was 4 of 14 last week and don't look to show much as these two clubs meet again during the regular season. With more on the line take the JETS!
|08-23-15||Dallas Cowboys v. San Francisco 49ers -4||Top||6-23||Win||100||26 h 5 m||Show|
Dallas at San Francisco 8:00 ET
Niners (-) over Cowboys- How could this bunch, the San Francisco 49ers be favored over the Cowboys at any time? Well, it is preseason football and while Dallas is playing their second straight on the road they are thinking of gearing up for Game 3 their home opener (even for preseason) next week against Minnesota. This is the home debut for Jim Tomsula and that is always a consideration for a new head coach as /he looks to make a positive impression before the 'shit hits the fan' so to speak because the Niners with be lucky to match last years eight win and will most likely end up with four or five. But, tonight Dallas will be distracted and San Francisco for what it's worth should be focused. Take the 49ERS!
|08-21-15||Atlanta Falcons v. NY Jets -120||Top||22-30||Win||100||12 h 37 m||Show|
Atlanta at New York Jets 7:30 ET
Jets over Falcons- Every year I find a spot where I think the 'Green Slime' (Jets) will come up big because they look so bad and this week I have already found it. Let me start by saying that I am a lifetime New York Giants fan and love to see their cross-town rivals fail but this is just too much for me to pass up. We are all familiar with New York's problems with suspensions and injuries on defense and a quarterback situation that is a complete joke on a professional level. They have a new head coach Todd Bowles that saw their only strong point their defense give up 430 yards and nearly 200 on the ground last week at Detroit. On offense they have an epic failure in Chan Gailey leading the way and they managed only six first downs and three points in their first experience together. But, here it is the Falcons who were up against another of the league's doormats in the Tennessee Titans needed a late TD to get the win. This week the Jets 'must' show the fan base something or the media and their most ardent supporters will turn their backs on this ugly show. Atlanta won at home against the Titans and they are no prize on the road. Take the J-E-T-S!
|08-14-15||Pittsburgh Steelers v. Jacksonville Jaguars -105||Top||21-23||Win||100||12 h 42 m||Show|
Pittsburgh at Jacksonville 7:30 ET
Jaguars (+) over Steelers- The conventual thinking here is that Pittsburgh has the advantage as they have one game under-the-belt and have had more time to work out problems as the Steelers reported to camp five days before the Jaguars. Pittsburgh has made some philosophy changes under Mike Tomlin as they were 16-9 (65%) ATS in preseason action from 2007-2011 but since that time they have gone 2-10-1 ATS as he is looking toward the season opener against New England. Jacksonville is looking to give their home fans something to cheer about and I expect a more concentrated attitude from the Jaguars. Take JACKSONVILLE!
