St Louis Blues vs. Nashville Predators NHL Free Pick
The Predators have been money at home all season long, but I think the value is on the visitors in this match-up. St. Louis is coming off a convincing 3-0 victory versus Colorado last night and should have its #1 netminder Brian Elliot available again tonight. The Predators goaltending situation is a bit more unclear. Pekka Rinne started last night’s 5-4 SO loss at Chicago and has not participated in both ends of a back-to-back all season. The Preds are likely to turn to Carter Hutton instead, and he is nowhere near Rinne in quality.
St. Louis has the best power play unit in the NHL and will be up against a Nashville penalty kill that has given up five goals over its last five games, going 14-for-19. The Blues have won six of the last seven meetings in Nashville and will be well motivated to even out the season series. Keep an eye on Vladimir Tarasenko who is third in the league with his 21 goals and is 2+1 over the three meetings with the Avs so far this season.
