The Cleveland Cavaliers are holding a 3-0 lead in this Eastern Conference finals series and can secure its place in the finals for the first time since 2007 with another win Tuesday night. They picked up two big wins at Atlanta (97-89, 94-82), but struggled in Game 3 home in Cleveland as Atlanta managed to force overtime where Cleveland eventually prevailed 114-111. The Hawks won the season series 3-1, and perhaps it’s too early to write off the Hawks just yet?

The Sacramento Kings (22-43) are just a mess right now. They won’t even play for George Karl, which just shows the kind of character these players have.

Take the Atlanta Hawks as my NBA free pick for Saturday night. The Hawks are the superior overall team here tonight and they are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 road games.

As much as I want to go against the Hawks due to their ridiculous run both SU and ATS, I think Atlanta is showing some great value here as a mere 4.5-point home favorite.

Who is the top team in the East? If you’re staring at the Box Scores every night and scratching your head at how Atlanta is getting it done, then look no further than their coaching.

I’m expecting a much lower scoring game than the books are predicting in this one, as they two are going to lay everything they have on the line defensively in a statement game for both teams.

I was waiting for the line to move to a +6 to accept the added generosity from the books. Buy a half point up to +6 for anything less than -125. This is not the same Hawks team that got blown out 127-94 a month ago in Cleveland.

Atlanta spent a lot of energy in last night’s comeback win over Boston, and it won’t have enough left in the tank to keep this one within the number against a Miami team that had last night off.

The Spurs have had to sit an wait for 4 days since losing on the road against the Suns last Friday. I look for San Antonio to be all business at home against the Hawks. Not to take anything away from Atlanta, who is a better team than they get credit for, but they are no match for a motivated Spurs squad. The Hawks are also not a great road team.
