We cashed a nice ticket playing against the Cougars in their last game vs. a strong Portland entity. We’ll turn around and cash a nice ticket with BYU this afternoon.

The Portland Trail Blazers have been dominant on the road all season, posting a 7-3 mark on the highway. This is a very good spot for Portland, as they’ll be looking to bounce back from an ugly loss to the Timberwolves in their last game.

Flying under the radar somewhat are the DePaul Blue Demons as they’re off to a nice 6-1 start to the season. This squad is getting it done on the offensive end, with efficient shooting from both 2 point range as well as behind the arc.

The Maryland Terrapins are finally getting over the hump that has had them near the middle of the pack in the ACC for so many years. They came into the season with a lot of hype, but many of us waited to see if this team was for real.

The UMKC Kangaroos find themselves in a bad spot coming into Ames tonight. They are completely outmanned, and have to deal with the wild crowd at Hilton Coliseum. UMKC has lost 5 of their last 6 games to a much lower level of competition.

Larry Brown has his SMU Mustangs off to a nice 5-3 start and their actually better than their record indicates. The Mustangs have played the 16th ranked schedule in the nation with 2 of their losses coming to teams ranked in the top 25. UCSB is far from a top 25 ranking, and they’ll have their hands full tonight on the road.

Brian Hoyer has been named the starter over Johnny Football Sunday against the Colts, but it won’t really matter which one of them lines up under center.

If you think the Broncos are complacent at 7-2, think again. With the surging Chiefs right on Denver’s heals, we can expect a big effort from this team every week. Running back Ronnie Hillman went down in last Sunday’s blowout of the Raiders.

Huge game for both teams tonight as the winner is on the fast track to a MAC West title. Northern Illinois had some kinks that it needed to work out early in the season, but they’ve now hit their stride. NIU has consecutive wins over Miami, Eastern Michigan, and a strong Ball State team. They’re getting it done with the ground game, leading the MAC in rushing. Last week the Huskies rushed for 148 yards against Ball State.

Way too big of a point spread here as Chicago just isn’t covering the number right now. They’re coming off of a home loss to the Celtics and have been outrebounded in their last 6 games.
