Thanksgiving NFL Free Pick 3-Pack
In the true spirit of Thanksgiving, Mike Lundin is providing us with his three ATS winners for Turkey Day, FOR FREE.
Philadelphia Eagles (4-6) vs. Detroit Lions (3-7)
Pick: Detroit Lions -2.5 (5Dimes)
The Detroit Lions are off back-to-back wins against Green Bay and Oakland with just a total of 29 point allowed. They outgained the Raiders an impressive 375-216 last week and I like their chances of defeating the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving.
The Eagles are off a pair of losses to Miami and Tampa Bay, and they’re likely to go with Mark Sanchez at quarterback for a second straight week with Sam Bradford’s status uncertain. You would expect DeMarco Murray to pick up some slack, but he’s averaging 3.7 yards per carry, one yard worse than his career mark, this season and he earned 64 yards on 13 carries in Sunday’s 45-17 home-defeat to the Buccaneers.
They allowed rookie QB Jameis Winston to throw five TDs in that game, and they’re 0-7 ATS in their last seven games following a double-digit loss at home.
Carolina Panthers (10-0) vs. Dallas Cowboys (3-7)
Pick: Carolina Panthers +1.5 (5Dimes)
The Dallas Cowboys are a perfect 3-0 with Tony Romo behind center this season and they picked up their first win since Week 2 with their star QB back in last week’s 24-14 win at Miami. The ATS line on this game has moved all over the place, and I like the undefeated Panthers when we can get them as an underdog again.
The Panthers offense has received a lot of praise, and rightly so as they bring the third-highest scoring offense in the league into this game and Cam Newton put up a five-touchdown performance last week. but they’ve done a terrific job on the defensive side of the ball as well with only 340.7 yards allowed per game.
The Cowboys Tony Romo threw two TDs and two picks in last week’s win against the Dolphins, and the Panthers D will be boosted by the return of defensive end Charles Johnson who has missed the last eight weeks with a hamstring injury.
Chicago Bears (4-6) vs. Green Bay Packers (7-3)
Pick: Green Bay Packers -8.5 (5Dimes)
The Green Bay Packers ended a three-game skid with a 30-13 blowout win at Minnesota Sunday. I’m looking for them to carry that momentum into their Thanksgiving match-up against the Chicago Bears and win big tonight as well. The Bears lost 17-15 against Denver last week and allowed the Broncos 170 yards on the ground while Jay Cutler threw a pair of turnovers.
The Bears could be in trouble here as the Packers Eddie Lacy managed to break out of his slump and carried the ball 22 times for his first 100 yard rushing effort of the season last week. The Packers will retire Brett Favre’s No. 4 in a halftime ceremony and should come in very pumped up for this game, particularly Aaron Rodgers who will want to make his predecessor proud.
The Packers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a ATS win and 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings with the Bears at Lambeau.
